    (ANI)

New Delhi, Feb 8 : The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Monday flagged of its fourth women contingent to Liberia for a United Nations Peace Keeping assignment.

Addressing the contingent on the occasion, CRPF Director General Vikram Srivastav asked personnel to handle peacekeeping operations carefully.

"When you are away from the country, please keep in mind that you are not only representing the CRPF, but also the country. The country will be assessed by your individual behaviour," Srivastav said.

Though family will always be a matter of concern, he expressed confidence about the contingent delivering its best.

"Family is always a matter of concern and the CRPF will make every arrangement to look after the family when the men are away on international assignment," Srivastav said.

Speaking to ANI, Commandant Usha Kiran said, she was proud to lead the contingent in a peacekeeping operation on behalf of the country.

"I am proud to lead the contingent and we are confident that we will bring glory to the country as well as to the CRPF," Commandant Kiran said.

The CRPF is sending 125-member contingent to Liberia to assist the civilian administration there.

Liberia is expected to elect a new government this year after experiencing years of civil war.

The CRPF contingent will be in that country for a year. By Shreeraj Gudi
